The Purcellville Volunteer Fire Department and the Town of Purcellville would like to invite you to apply for the annual 4th of July Parade being held on Monday, July 4th at 12:30.
The top three patriotic themed entries will receive a banner to carry during the parade again this year. Winners will be selected by the July 4th Parade citizen volunteer group based on creative, musical, and patriotic decorations incorporating the 2016 theme, “Amazing American Heroes.” Winners will be notified prior to the parade so that winning units can display their prize banners during the parade. Again this year the Purcellville Gazette will be handing off the “Liberty Cup,” that is currently in the possession of the 2015 top winning entry, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, to the new 2016 winner. Make sure your parade unit is patriotic, as well as bold, big, unique, colorful, creative and entertaining. Special effects, animation and the use of patriotic music and sound will make your unit stand out.
The Parade will start at 12:30 PM at Emerick Elementary (continuing up Orchard Avenue, right on Main Street, left onto Maple Avenue) and end at Loudoun Valley High School. If you would like to participate in the parade, please contact Donnie Embrey, Parade Chairman of the Purcellville Volunteer Fire Department at 703-727-7191 or [email protected] or visit www.purcellvilleva.gov to download an application.
