Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company Celebrates 100 Years of Service to the Community!

The Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company (PVFC) is proud to announce that on March 15, 2023, we will start celebrating our 100th year of service to the citizens of Purcellville and surrounding areas. PVFC was established in 1923 after the Town of Purcellville endured a series of disastrous fires, the first in 1900 and then two more in 1914, which virtually wiped out the business district, depriving the Town of much of its earliest architectural heritage. Ever since its founding in 1923, the PVFC has been dedicated to protecting the community and providing top-quality fire and emergency medical services.

Over the past century, the PVFC has grown from a small group of dedicated volunteers to a team of highly trained professionals. The company has responded to countless emergencies, saving lives, and protecting property. PVFC members have also been active in the community, participating in events and supporting local organizations.

We are extremely proud to have served this community for 100 years. The dedication and commitment of our members over the years has made us what we are today. We look forward to continuing our mission of protecting the citizens of Purcellville for many years to come.

To commemorate this milestone, the PVFC will be holding a series of events throughout the year, including Public Safety Day in May to Open House Events in October. These events will provide an opportunity for the community to meet PVFC members, learn about the company’s history, and see the equipment and facilities used to protect the community. On the actual anniversary date, members gathered at the station to take a group photo and celebrate with delicious cake and ice cream!

Updates on centennial celebration events, volunteering opportunities, and ways to support the company, can be found here on our website and in our social medial channels on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
