On Monday evening April 8th,2019 the Second Annual LC- LCFR Combined Award Recognition Ceremony where held.
This event recognizes the special achievements of system members across a wide array of activities, some of which were annually awarded at the former Deener-Carr Banquet for volunteers. Purcellville was there to witness the recognition of three of our company’s members: Assistant Chief Buddy Colby, Technician Ed Jackson and Master Tech Rick Reaves.
AC Colby received the John C. Carr, Jr. Memorial Award. Chief Maple made the presentation to Buddy as the award is sponsored by the Fire Operations Committee and recognizes those who have been a member of the LC-CFRS a minimum of five years (Buddy has been around a lot longer than that!) and who display outstanding leadership and achievements during their service. Buddy’s family was there to witness his receiving this award.
Master Tech Rick Reaves received the Hall of Fame Award along with three others. Chief Maple again made the presentation. The award recognizes outstanding achievement during many years of service and for outstanding contributions to the fire and rescue system, not just their home company. Rick’s family was in attendance to see him receive this award.
Technician Ed Jackson received the Firefighter of the Year Award for the entire system. Ed was the volunteer recipient. The award recognizes outstanding performance in the day-to-day performance of duties and outstanding service and dedication to the fire and rescue system as a whole.
In addition to these awards, Master Tech Reaves was also recognized for 35 years of service in Loudoun County.
We could not be prouder of the recognition so richly deserved by Buddy, Rick and Ed. Great job all of you!
