Passing of Chief Stanley Lickey & Arrangments
It is with great sadness that we share with you the news of the passing of Stanley Lickey, past Fire Chief of the Philomont Vol. Fire Company 8
Chief Lickey passed away peacefully Friday night at Winchester Hospital surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues. Chief Stanley Lickey, at 32 years was one of the longest, continuously-serving fire chiefs anywhere. Chief Lickey was one of the original commissioners and a member of the Board of Directors on the Fire Council, later the Fire Commission. The group had responsibility for establishing policy, procedures, standards for equipment, the direction of the volunteer system. Born on March 24th, 1936, Stanley operated the Philomont General Store for nearly 25 years. A full Fire Department funeral has been requested by the family.

A Reception will immediately follow the internment at the Philomont Fire Station 8 located at 36560 Jeb Stuart Road, Philomont, VA 20131.
This will be a fire department funeral with full fire department honors. LC-CFRS Class A Uniforms or the equivalent is requested for off-duty personnel. On-duty personnel have the option of Class A or station uniform if attending.
